I was always very uncomfortable with my small and asymmetric chest. At 17, reality set in that this was all I was ever going to have. I always thought about Brest Augmentation in the future when I graduated college, but I couldn't wait that long being uncomfortable so I decided to discuss this with my mom. She was not thrilled about me having plastic surgery but agreed to look into it.
The summer before my freshman year of college, I went on 4 consults. I had not decided on a surgeon before I went to school but knew that over the year in college, my left size seemed to grow but not the right. Before surgery, I was a AA in the right with almost no tissue and a full A/small B in the left. Bras and shirts would shift to the left side and this was so frustrating. I also felt like something was always missing and I lacked confidence and never felt sexy and was always shy during intimate moments because I was only worried about my disfigured chest.
I had surgery on May 5, 2010 and I am only a little over a week out and I feel like I have had them forever. Because of my asymmetry I have a 400 cc mod+ silicone implant in the right breast and only a 240cc low profile silicone implant in the left breast...and now I am very close to even. I was able to get silicone at 18 because it was considered reconstructive surgery because of my asymmetry. Right now I measure a 34 C...but I am a small C and it looks so natural. People don't notice unless they knew of my surgery because I always wore major padding. My clothes all fit soo much better and I feel more feminine and I no longer feel uncomfortable in my body. Because I am not a very small girl I felt so unproportionate before my surgery (I am 5'6 and weight 136 lbs).
I researched every option and went with a surgeon highly recommended by my OBGYN who was a top surgeon in North Jersey and had outstanding reviews. Every surgeon recommended something different but I had to go with my gut and what I thought was the best for me. He did a beautiful job and I am so happy. Also, my recovery was a breeze. I came out of surgery with just tape on my incision and had discomfort for 2 days and then I was completely fine and off pain meds on day 3. By day 4, I bought my first bra! I am glad I did this in the prime of my life and can enjoy them and feel comfortable!
